Father's Day in Napa

We took our first family trip back in June over Father's Day weekend.  Yes, we have been to New Jersey to visit family, and Vegas for a Birthday weekend; but we have decided to count this as our first family trip.  We were very lucky to have both of our parents and my sister along on the trip as well.

The Saturday of Father's Day weekend we had quite a few wineries on the schedule in Sonoma Valley.  We first stopped in the town square and picked up some delicious cheese and meat to go with our sourdough bread and Temecula olive oil we had already picked up.   This day was the hottest of the entire trip, so it was nice when we were able to have our picnic lunch under some beautiful trees at Ledson winery (beautiful winery!!!).

Here is Daddy and Kalea relaxing in the shade before we eat.
So cute in her shades.
The last winery of the day was pretty far North and just happened to be Francis Ford Coppola's.  It was pretty neat to see all of his Oscars!
The best part of the weekend was celebrating my hubby's first Father's Day and also being able to spend it with both of our Dad's.  Pat really is the best Dad to our beautiful little girl.  I knew he would be a great dad, which is part of why I fell in love with him;  but seeing him with her he is better then I could have ever dreamed.  Kalea is definitely a daddy's girl, and I love watching them together every moment I can.

Here is Pat with one of his gifts from Kalea and I.  The top picture is from a Phillies game and the bottom one is Pat and Kalea the day after she was born.
Here is Pat's other gift.  I put together a shadow box which included pictures from Kalea's first baseball game ever, the scorecard Pat kept, a ticket from the game, and a certificate from the stadium for her first game.
Here are my two loves...
A smile caught on camera!
After presents and breakfast, we went to a few wineries before dinner.  Kalea is wearing an adorable petal dress my mom made for her.
Cheers!  Here is our group, with Dale (Pat's Dad) behind the camera.
Mom Mom holding Kalea in her "Napa outfit" at dinner.  We ate at Mustards in Napa Valley...so good!
Kalea and Daddy.  This is how her hair looks after wearing her headband.  Cute rosy cheeks!  Happy first Father's Day to my wonderful husband, my Baby's Daddy!!!

First Phillies Game!

While we were visiting every one in New Jersey, we planned it out so that Kalea's first baseball game ever would be at a Phillies game.  To make it easier on the wallet, it also happened to be a dollar dog night.  So on Thursday, April 12th we ventured to Citizens Bank Park with MomMom and PopPop.

We had high hopes for the game since last season Kalea "went" to 7 Phillies games while she was growing nice and strong inside me and every game we went to was a victory.

Here we are on our way into the game, ready with our baby carriers and Kalea all decked out in her Phillies gear.  What you can't see is her wearing her Chase Utley baby jersey, but it is there!
I bet she can't wait until she can play in the Phillie Phanatic play area when she gets older!
It was of course a super chilly night at the ball game, luckily we were prepared.  It is also a good thing that Kalea is a nice little heat box when she is all snuggled up.  She was helping to keep me so warm while she was sleeping on me during the game.  Later in the evening we changed her into her nice warm pajamas so that she could be passed around without getting cold.  Here is a great shot with her wonderful Grandparents enjoying the game with her.
I absolutely love this shot with her MomMom.
Just for Kalea, Shane Victorino hit his first home run of the season at the game!  Luckily, I got a shot of the bell ringing after the hit.
Kalea celebrating the Phillies victory...now she is 8 and 0!
 Us celebrating as well!
It was such a great night.  We were so glad to share the experience with Linda and Dale.  The Phillies won 3 - 1 versus the Miami Marlins.  They are currently struggling, so I think we are very lucky to have gone to a victorious game.  Here is hoping their season turns around soon!

Padres baseball here we come!

And by that I mean, Padres baseball to watch the Phillies and Angels...here we come!  Last season, we bought a special 10-game pack of tickets for the Padres, and with that we watched all 4 games the Phillies played in San Diego.  It was such a fun experience, especially since it was part of a season where we were undefeated in the games we watched.

With that plan, we were put on the radar as potential season-ticket holders.  We were invited for a private tour of the ball park, and it was amazing.  Here we are in the press box looking towards where the tv/radio announcers sit to watch the game.

Family shot right behind home plate in the "Sony" club section...$30,000 dollar a seat season tickets!

In the visitors dugout...we went there instead of the Padres since we cheer for the Phillies when they are in town.

Sitting on the steps our favorite players run up 4 times a season

Kalea's first time at a ballpark and she gets to "walk" on the dirt!

We finished our tour walking underneath the park and right by the entrance to the Padres clubhouse!
We ended up buying one seat for a quarter season ticket.  They are super flexible and we will get to take the 21 games we have a seat to and trade the tickets for all of the games we want to go to while still getting the same seating section at a great price.  We are planning on going to all 4 Phillies games in April and the 3 Angels games in May.  We will have seats for 3 more games after that, but we can use their value to upgrade our seats to really close to the field for a few games!  We are so excited this worked out and can't wait for some great baseball this season!
